Ken Ferber

Ken Ferber is founder and CEO of Trueify, LLC, which educates and trains professionals how to protect their reputation while creating proactive initiatives harnessing the power of social media. With more than 30 years of expertise in public affairs, reputation management and strategic communications, Ken is one of the few executives to have successfully led public affairs and communications functions in the corporate, government and non-profit arenas. An expert in media relations, he has he has worked on thousands of news stories with virtually every major news-gathering organization. 

Previously, Ferber served as chief communications officer for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a leading center for pediatric cancer. Before that, he was at WellPoint (now Anthem, Inc.) the nation’s largest health insurer. He directed scores of public affairs and strategic communications campaigns including a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case and the successful effort to move Claritin to over-the-counter status. 

Ferber was the first outside expert to be appointed director of public affairs for the Los Angeles Police Commission - the policy-making and oversight body of the LAPD. In that capacity, he managed the post O.J. Simpson verdict investigation, a department-wide corruption scandal and the adjudication of nearly 500 officer-involved shootings. Ken also directed public affairs at a U.S. State Department contractor responsible for emergency medical care in war zones including Afghanistan, Bosnia, Rwanda and Somalia. 

Ken Ferber was a co-creator and co-producer of a groundbreaking public television series on helping parents of people with developmental disabilities advocate for their children.
He has been a guest lecturer at UCLA’s Annenberg School of Communications and USC’s Marshall School of Business.

A committed and passionate wolf advocate, Ken was the first outside Chairman of Wolf Connection, and has been supporting Apex Protection Project since its inception.
